When it comes to the great outdoors, downtown Boston offers plenty of opportunity for urban adventure. Once spring and summer arrive, there’s nothing quite like a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, which is not only one of baseball’s most beautiful parks, but also the oldest. As the oldest public park in the country, Boston Common has been inviting locals to escape the concrete confines of the city since 1830. Throughout its 50 leafy acres you’ll find everything from walking, running, and biking trails to horse-drawn carriage rides and ice skating on Frog Pond. Nearby, the Boston Public Garden features tranquil paths winding by stone fountains, lush plants and flowers, and Swan Boat rides gliding across on the lagoon. Stroll along the Rose Kennedy Greenway and jump on the carousel where you will ride atop animals indigenous to Massachusetts. There is an abundance of additional outdoor activities to enjoy throughout Boston’s four seasons.
